Off-page connectors not working in PDF

Does anyone know if off-page connectors are supposed to work when the Visio file is saved as PDF?  I keep running into a problem where some of the connectors will not work when the files is saved as a PDF though they work fine within the Visio file itself.  Note that when I add an off-page connector to a page I always start from a fresh one from the stencil (i.e. I don't duplicate an existing connector within a page) so that I can create a fresh connection to the page to connect to.  For a while that seemed to solve it but now it has started to do it randomly again.

I use Visio 2016 in case that matters.

Disregard, found this thread in this forum that already addresses hyperlinks not working; I was using the "/" character in some of the page names which messed it up.  Didn't know Visio didn't like 4 specific characters in the page names.
