Need a keyboard shortcut to close the Format Shape window

[Hey Ken]

Folks:

   I have a laziness question: Press the F3 key, and the Format Shape window opens.  But what key closes it?  Too often I hit F3 when I meant F2, and I'd like a solution that does not involve touching the mouse.  I've looked around and hacked at it, but to no avail.  Any ideas?

   Dozens of views and no replies...  Guess I'm not surprised -- even Application.Windows.Count doesn't know anything about it!  Looks like I'm outta luck.  So much for laziness.

I don't see your thread before
I am very lazy too, i also bored with this issue. I found that it is not window, it is pane.
And we have no way to close it with hotkey.

   I wouldn't say it's a pane, but rather a pain!  ;- )

   Regardless, thanks for the info.  When I was originally looking for a solution, I did not think to include the term "pane".  But searching on that, I did find that Word VBA supports it, but not Visio VBA.  What a pain.

as close as i can get so far using visio 2016 pro
on my keyboard

to appear:
FN key + F3  = format shapes window appears.

to close:
click on shapes window -> drop down menu options
Shift + C = format shapes window closes.
