Set default freeform line color, weight, etc.? (Visio 2010)

I swear in the past I have simply set the line color and weight with no objects selected and new lines would have those properties. But it isn't working today. What is the secret cause to get all new freeform lines to be yellow and 3pts?
Using Visio 2019, part of Office 365 on Windows 10
