to the left there two group shapes. one for 'lower' part and for 'upper' part (there're 3-4 types of these tops/bottoms in the document)
to the right there's group shape i want to get combining different types of tops/bottoms. the problem is it's quite hard to position it right manually. I want lower part to be glued to top if drop nearby and vice-versa. I tried to add connection points via shape-sheet to these groups, but no luck.
Is there way to connect group-shapes in this way ? if not what can be done to simplify my job ?

Hi,

It may be a matter of the size of lower group.
In the figure below, shapeB can be connected to shapeA,
but shapeC cannot be connected to shapeA.
One of the ways to reduce the size of the shape is to joint all sub-shapes
into one shape  with joint menu in shape/operation.
