Corrupt Shape Connector settings Visio 2003

I'm using an old version of MS Visio and have been using it for ages with no problem. However I'm having problems getting a simple connection between shapes to work whether in new or saved documents.
I've checked that snap and glue are on but when I select the connector tool and click and drag from one shapes anchor point to another I get an angled connector - connected at one end to the first shape but nowhere near the second shape.
If I then drag the end anchor of the connector to the shape I want to get to the connection goes completely wrong.
Something must be up with the default settings - I've tried different themes but no resolution.

Could you upload the file? Or are you sure its an issue with your installation of Visio rather than the Shapes/Connectors settings? If that´s the case, maybe reinstall Visio.
