Hi, I'm new to this forum!

I'm creating a house floor plan and have started by creating walls. When I tried to connect a Window shape to the end of a Wall shape, the Window shape automatically slid halfway over the Wall shape instead of attaching to the end.  Through further experimentation, I learned that the Window and Door shapes etc. are apparently intended to be placed on top of Wall shapes rather than be connected to the ends of walls. This does make sense since windows are actually installed in walls rather attached to their ends, even though in 2D it looks like otherwise.

This is not the first time I've been puzzled by shape behavior, and I'm wondering if there is a resource available containing documentation of shape behavior and other aspects of Visio.  I know I can depend on this forum regarding specialized questions and issues, but I'm just looking for some documentation that I can quickly refer to to help myself and avoid time-consuming trial and error experimentation.
