How to move a collection x inches left?

Is there a way to move a collection of shapes a given distance in a given direction in a single jump and without using the arrow keys?

I have some somewhat complicated drawings. Occasionally, I need to move them a bit to make room for additional shapes. I have been using the arrow keys (left, right, up, down), but (a) they are really only good for short distances, (b) they can be fairly slow, at least on my creaky old machine, and (c) it can be difficult to position the collection exactly by eyeball. It would be very handy to be able to move the collection 2.5" left, for example.

Sis and position window...type in New value in X-position box.  You can even do math.  Beware, specifying units is critical.

Well, OK, if there isn't a better way. I was hoping for a right-click option to move x inches to the right.

I can always use Surrogate's suggestion of Cut and right-click Paste. That will get it close.

Are you sure? I've been known to screw that up, too.

Yep, I'll probably get that wrong, as well.

Thanks
