Hello,

So take a group of objects, lets say 4 squares at 0.25 inches width and height. Side by side, they total 1 inch. Next, group them together.

Now, right mouse on the grouping and select Open Group under the Group submenu.

Edit each object to be 1/8 by 1/8 inches and group them side by side. Once finished, close the group window.

The sizes of the objects are smaller, but the group size is still 1 inches wide.

How do I resize the group width to match the total width of the objects without resizing the objects?

Note that I don't want to ungroup then regroup, because I have data field references for each object and the grouping.

Thanks,

The normal behavior has the sub-members proportional to the group (parent) shape.  Thus, resizing the subshapes will not impact the group shape.

However, if you resize the group, the subshapes will grow or shrink as is appropriate.
The reference that Yacine provides has some options for modifying the behavior.
