Guidance on Custom shape Approach

HI ..

Ive been trying to learn how to go about creating custom shapes, relatively new to the process, but would like to start with recreating a shape i need to use.
Attached is a sample, i just need some guidance on the best way to create, the chevron tool is the starting point, but its the branching parts that i dont know how to approach.. keen on your advice
