Hi,

I hope that someone can help me with the issue I currently have.

I have an old Visio Stencil from Visio 2003 that I wish to use in Visio 2016.  The issue I have is that when i open a file in Visio 2016 that hs shapes created using this stencil, then i just see a white (or Empty) area where i expect the shape to be.  likewise if i open the stencil i wish to use in Visio 2016 the same shapes are missing from it too.

To humour myself, I reinstalled an old version of Visio 2003 and et viola, all files work and display as expected.

My assumption is that the Stencil and shapes within are (were) written in such a way that they are incompatible with Visio 2016.

Can anyone advise how i may be bale to "Upgrade" the stencil so that it will work with 2016?

All help and advice is gratefully received and appreciated.

Bev

I suspect the problem is with Visio 2016, not the stencil.
Create a new file and ensure that themes are set to off. Now open the stencil.

Paul,

I wish it was as simple as that,  Indeed I have confirmed this already.  Even opening a new file, ensuring no theme is applied and viewing the stencil i cannot see the shapes. let alone adding the shape to the new file.

Thank you for your reply.

Could you post the stencil so we can test it?
