Checking what the latest version of Visio would cost, I stumbled over this page: https://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/Visio-Professional-2016/productID.323025600
(go to the review section)

Why on earth would someone want to buy a product from a page displaying such bad critics?

I think there are 2 things here to observe:
1) M$ does here a very poor job in distributing a solid solution. The bugs shouldn't be so hard to eliminate. In my opinion, they don't care enough about customer satisfaction.
2) The page doesn't do justice to the product at all. It shows features that every "diagramming tool" can do better than Visio and not the wonderful flexibility Visio can offer. Pitty!

My two cents,
Y.

Yikes!!!  Viva V2007!

Actually, JuneTheSecond has used V2016 with Office 365, if I'm not mistaken.  He's been reasonably successful, but has reported more issues, uncharacteristic for him.

I've not seen any praise comments from users.  Microsoft would do well to bring back Chris, the  designers /MVPs...people who are passionate about Visio.  You're right, there are strong competitors out there...eager to steal market share.

I suppose only those who have had a poor experience find the need to vent their problems. It really does annoy me when the corporate body responds with the word "issues". No, these are not issues, these are problems.

Hi, all.
I am using Visio pro for office 365, not Visio professional.
It costs 13 dollars per month.
It is as stable as other Visio versions.
I am receiving updates once or twice a month.
I don't recommend Visio professional 2016,
because when a new Visio is published in the future coming soon,
you have to buy again it with very high cost.
I rather recommend Visio pro for Office 365.
Visio pro for Office 365 costs by month.
But when you cancel the subscription at the mid point of a month,
it seems to me they charge me by date as far as I have experienced.
Here is a table for comparing various versions.
