Create shapes from excel cell data

Hi,
I am sure this has been done before but i could not find it - perhaps my search skills need improving.....

I need to be able to create simple rectangles from size data in an excel sheet  - length and width
Within the shape i would like to display other related data.
EG:
The data field in the excel would be:
number, user, length, width, date 1, time 1, date 2, time 2

Visio to automatically create the rectangle (to scale) and display the other date fields in the box

Can anybody please help?

For the data to display, prepare a shape that has the right custom properties, in the text of the shape insert the desired fields and save it as master.
When importing the rows from excel, make sure this master is selected.
