Shape numeration

Hello,

i´m looking for a macro to get the position number of a shape written in a circle next to the shape. The macro should also add the position number to the correct shape in the shape report. do you guys have any idea how can i do this ? I cannot use the numeration addon which is included in visio because the numbers are written in the middle of the shape, but i need them like i wrote above in a circle next to the shape.

If you don't use auto numbering, how is the  position number determined?

Next, the circle which contains the text, should not be included in the counting process?

The circle with text should always be visible? 

How is  circle position determined?

Hi Stephan,
we had several discussions about auto-numbering in the past. Some even in depth.
There are actually several possibilities to handle the problem, but they depend on the actual needs case.
Can you tell more about your project?
