Text ruler missing

just reinstalled visio pro 2010 on a windows 10 machine.  Text ruler is missing from any text box I create.  Anyone have any hints.

Select any shape of any Visio document, enter into text edit mode by dbl-click or PF2, right click on editing text block, and select context menu "Text Riuler (R). Then Text ruler will become visible on any shape of any Visio document.

your a life saver, was going nuts and goggled the heck out of this and couldn't find anything.  is this a bug or a ms enhancement ;-)
