Text spacing

In Visio, how can I control how much space there is before and after the text attached to an object?

If I draw a line and add some text, I'd like to be able to have some space around the text where it breaks the line.

I've tried all of the formatting options I could find, but nothing works.

you're looking for margins - to be found in either the text format dialog (under Text Block) or in the shapesheet (in section Text Block Format)

Take a look at this topic - looks like the simple problem of adding margins to text on connectors has only workaround solution?!

I just remembered because I had the same issue awhile ago and that topic popped up.. But I would say it's odd that margins are not working in this case..
