Hello,
After lot of searching and reading different posts in this forum and elsewhere, I decided to start a new topic.
Here is what I am trying to do:
I have a drawing that has 3 regions, Region A, Region B and Region C, marked by a master shape. I have area masters that are dropped in all of these regions.
I want to connect Regions to the areas using the connectors. See the image.

As you can see, area shapes are connected to Region A, B and C.
The Area Master has a user defined cell, "User.Region" in the shapesheet. The value of "User.region" will depend on which Region the Area shape is connected to. So if an area shape is connected to Region A, the "User.Region" value will be "A".
I know you have to write a code for this, but wanted to check if anyone has done this before and have some example or direction that I can use.

Any help on this is appreciated.

Thanks,
- Miki

Hi Miki,
can you explain the purpose of the exercise?
We may find other ways if we understand what you are trying to do.

The purpose is to see how many number of area shapes and their area value are there in different regions.
So if there are more that 3 regions (A, B, C) and each region can have multiple areas. The end product will be a table like this:

Region    Area Number        Area
A                    1                    45
A                    2                    30
A                    3                    23

Hope this is helpful.

Hello,

I cannot see the picture in the first post.
Could you fix this, please?
Also it could be helpful if you attach a minimized Visio document that illustrates your idea.

Regards,
Thomas
