Cad to Visio

I recently coverted CAD Floor plan to Visio and it was succesful. It took about 7 hours to convert. Even after the conversion working on it is slow. The file size is 15MB. I just need this to view the floor plan, add and delete employees name. What am I doing wrong or can do to speed things up.

The imported drawing probably consists of many small lines.
Some ideas:
- delete hatches
- join segments that belong to same entities
- copy the elements that matter to a new drawing
