Aleem from Trinidad, I am a chemical and process engineer. Started using visio when it was visio technical 5, I've done mechanical drawings of equipment parts, piping and instrumentation diagrams, process flow diagrams and building plans. If only I could dump all of the connectivity information from the current PFD that I'm working on I would be soooo happy (this one took me 2 months and is very convoluted  ??? :-\)

My name is Al, I live near Chicago and work with Visio a lot. I'm a retired network consultant that works part time for a company that does data center relocations. I'm also a Visio MVP, which just means you've raised your hand to try and help and don't mind being shot at  ;D

These drawings are built from a sql server database and color coded based upon last network status.....

Lars-Erik, The Netherlands, and as of Wednesday I'll be a Mechanical Engineer.

Used to be pretty active, but had to drop some activities cause of my graduation project (sadly that included this forum).
Now that my eduction is complete, I'm hoping to start helping out on visguy forum again.

Don from Baltimore:

I used to be an IT developer and administrator and used Visio in that capacity.  Since retiring, I have been using Visio to do architectural drawings for our local Habitat for Humanity affiliate which rehabs century old row houses in west Baltimore. Visio turns our to be a great tool for that sort of application.

Lovin' it!   ;)  With all of you "heavy hitters" east of "the pond", Al and I (well, me anyway, since I'm just about the last to see the sun), can just sit and kick back!   :D

Welcome back Lars.

I am Philippe C from Flanders and I should be working.  I am looking at the balls of the Atomium right now.
Many years ago I toyed with Visio trying the software reEngineering feature.
Some years ago I was fooled into Visio again for making schemas for electrical installations.  I had the opportunity to have an in depth look into Visio.

This time, last year I attended the Visio conference in Redmond.  I am finishing a two year, one evening a week Autocad course.  I intend to specialise in the next version of Visio.  That's why I answer questions on forums.  Then I'd like to teach it.

I am allready a part time self employed electrician.  In 4 months I'll be a heating technician also.  After that, I'll learn KNX domotics.

I am preparing for a smooth transition into retirement.  Hopefully I'll enjoy playing with 3D building plans, domotics, robotics.

another Chris, here!

...been rendering with Visio since '97/'98.  Of course back then it was the over-lain version called, PoolDraw.

Yeah, ridiculous, right?  Ha ha!  I have had a great time producing visual stimulating construction documentation with Visio that make AutoCad operators envious.

It is great to read all of your applications/uses of Visio. It has truly shown me that I have just barely scratched the surface of the software’s capabilities.  I’m trying to learn though.
I’ll ask you guys for help, and if any of you run into a “pool” question… don’t hesitate to ask.
