Hi VG Forums, first post here.

I am pretty new to Visio and my new position requires I use visio pretty every day now so I am looking for ways to make things cleaner and easier.

I have several parts of a master group that represent a link in a network, it consists of several containers with text in them.

[ [ a interface ] ------  [ a conn. type ] ------ [ link information ] ------ [ z conn. type ] ------  [ z initerface ] ]

the outside [ ] is the master group that all the inside  [ ] stencils are part of. I can create properties of the master, but when I go to pull that information into the sub-group stencils, I do not see any way.

My assumption is this is a very common thing to have to do so I am at a loss.

currently using 2010 but being upgraded to 2013 shortly.

Thanks!

Hi,

you can access other shapes properties like this:
=Sheet1!Prop.Name
You can do that in the ShapeSheet or in "Insert -> Field -> Custom Formula"
