Linking data to shapes - making a more dynamic form

Visio file; sheet 1 is a drop down list of all the items in column A on the spread sheet.
              I know I can get all the other sheets, 2 through 18, to populate  as their columns info using IF statements.
Question; can this be done more simply by linking the Excel data file?

Hi,
The way I interpret your uploads, you want to update several shapes (their data) in a drawing, but excel row by excel row.

The topic is not closed yet, but my be you can get a first impression on how to solve it.
