Alt key to override snap as in other Office programs

In Word, Powerpoint, etc., pressing the Alt key allows free resizing of table cells, text blocks, etc., rather than snapping to ruler defaults. It would be very very convenient if Visio would work the same, and it would increase the functional commonality among Office applications.
