Hey guys,

I am a new member and looking forward of getting some experienced advice and helping others as much as I can

I am using Visio Professional 2013

PROBLEM:

I have a table in Excel labeled "TABLE1" with coordinates A8:F24

I need to link that specific table to a Visio drawing with the possibility that the table will change its position e.g. I may have to move it to coordinates A10:F26

THUS FAR:

The best solution for linking a custom size Excel table I have found is simple: (Excel)-select range-copy-(Visio)-paste special-from file-as link, but this is pasted in the form:

"Sheet1!R8C1:R17C4"

linking only specific cells not a specific table.

QUESTION:

Is it possible? Am I missing something? Help and external sources are warmly welcomed

Hi,
I wouldn't habe believed that this works, but you can use named ranges to have a flexible link to excel.
In excel name the range that you want to display.
Select it, copy and insert in visio as linked object.
Now when you modify in excel the definition of the range, the displayed range in visio will change.
Cool!
