Timeline Changing start finish date by year and elemnts inside auto update

Hello, Hope I can explain this properly.

I have a time line with multiple bracketed intervals, synchronised intervals, how cn i change the underlying start date year and have all of the intervals update.

I have tried to group them and different types of Ruler / Divided timeline.

I have a timeline with many fixed period things happening each year at about the same time each year and then I have ad-hoc items that go onto the timeline which depend on information as it comes in.

copying the base time line and configuring it is OK but the elements on the time line then dissapear into a muddle at the begining of the timeline. I can reconfigure all individually so the eventually have a new timeline but that take an age....

Also at the moment I do not have access to MS Project and think for what I am doing it would be overkill.
