I am using the instrument bubble shape from processing engineering templates.  When I try to add text to the instrument bubble shape I can see it when entering, but not afterwards.  I have copied instrument bubbles from Visio 2007 and the same problem happens.  In the edit text mode I can see the text, but not when I close edit mode.  HELP

Can you tell exactly which shape from which stencil?

The shape is in the Engineering Stencils, Process Engineering, Instruments, the shape is the top shape in the list

I have labeled the same shape in a blank drawing successfully, but when I copy to existing drawing, the text disappears.....

Yep, I have turned hide tag and show tag on several times.

I guess you are editing the text of a shape that is intended to display the content of a field instead.
Some labeling shapes have fields to edit, some have a yellow dot to be glued to another shape with properties. Try to find out what this shape is intended to do.
If nothing helps upload a drawing with that shape.
