Can't view my drawing - Visio 2013

I have a Network Diagram (ND) for a large hotel which I am no longer able to view. When I double click on the file in Windows Explorer it open in Visio but instead seeing the actual ND is see a large picture a shape I have previously added to the ND; a HP 48 port switch. It's like I have tried to edit this shape and it remains open however I can't find a way to get back to the original ND.

The file size is 3MB and if I select File --> Save As --> The ND appears as it should in PDF format. However, I can't work out how to revert back to the ND in Visio.

At the top of the screen the file name is appended with a colon and then the name of the shape which is appearing on the screen. I'll attach a screen shot of what I am seeing.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Visio is in group edit mode. Check this by doing menu View -> Switch Windows. It will show 2 windows. Close the current window, you should see your original drawing, do a Save, (not a SaveAs). Now when you open the drawing you will see your drawing.

I had already checked here and there is only one option under View --> Switch Windows.

Please see the attached screen shot.

Any other ideas?

Do the Save anyway, see what happens.

Still no luck. I've been trying to resolve this for a number of days and have closed / opened / saved the document a number of times.

I've also tried to revert to earlier versions of the document but unfortunately this feature was not enabled.

It's a large and detailed drawing; I really don't want to have to start over.

Any other thoughts?

Fixed file is on its way back to you.
It was in Group edit mode, but the main view had been lost somehow. Fixed it as follows:
menu File -> Info -> Properties -> Advanced Properties -> Save workspace (off)
Save
menu File -> Info -> Properties -> Advanced Properties -> Save workspace (on)

I don't think Visio should be able to get itself into this state - being stuck in group edit mode is not useful.
