Hi All,

I'm trying to get a hyperlink to visio working. I'm able to right-click on the shape. The Hyperlinks diagram comes up showing Address:, Sub-address:, etc. I click in browse and select "Local file..." I navigate to where putty resides (in this case, it's on my desktop. After I select it, it shows "..\Desktop\putty" I add my host name to the end of the line, so it reads like this "..\Desktop\putty.exe host". I click ok and I think I should be done. Butwhen I try to launch putty, it comes up with this dialog box:

--------------------------------------

Microsoft Visio

Hyperlink to 'C:\Users\GL255009\Desktop\putty.exe host" failed. Make sure the addresss is correct and try again.

--------------------------------------

So what am I doing wrong? Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks

You don't hyperlink to executables (putty or any of the others). You can call a macro that executes putty within the script. The people who own web browsing at MS decided a couple of years ago that calling programs using hyperlinking was not a very secure set of operations and pulled that funcitonality. perhaps this putty example might help.
