Shapesheet Data correctly linked Field not updating

My template shape has multiple Shape Data elements. If I have the first section highlighted (this has 16 Shape Data items) and update one item, the linked field would update. I was making some additional links and the updates stopped. The only way that I can not get the field to update is to relink the field. This only works once. Some linked items still work fine.

What could I have done to have caused this and is there a remedy for it?
