Okay, I simply cannot save my drawing as a webpage. I'm using:

Visio 2010, Win7.

When I click file-->save as the dialog box pops up and I select "save as webpage". I then either press publish or Okay and, in either case, the dialog box just disappears and nothing else happens, nothing at all. Once the dialog box disappears, its like I never even issued the save command, NOTHING happens. No files are created. In an attempt to get this working, I changed the registry key as indicated here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> Software -> Microsoft -> Office -> 14.0 -> Visio -> Solution -> SaveAsWeb -> Settings then change "priformat" from XAML to VML
From (http://www.aidangarnish.net/post/Displaying-a-Visio-2010-drawing-with-links-in-a-Page-Viewer-Web-Part.aspx)

No change, the dialog still just disappears. My file is large and growing, going on 10MB. I only have a few hyperlinks in the drawing currently, but expect a great deal more.

I was originally planning on just using Visio Viewer to allow my users to interact with, but not to edit, the diagram... but apparently MS doesn't support its own software in IE9, only IE8 and before.

Please help

What the heck am I doing wrong?

So the Save As Type is set to Web Page (*.htm; *.html).

What is the save file name set to and what is the save path?

Oh yes. What type of Visio drawing is it?

Good news, I solved that problem but found another problem!

Solution:
There was something totally off in the registry. Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't work because the reg keys persisted. When we switch users, it worked fine which indicated the problem. Solution was to uninstall, remove all relevant reg keys, reinstall.... works like a charm.

The new problem is posted here, dealing with an unbearably slow Visio webpage:

I'm glad you're all sorted, but in general you shouldn't have to edit registry keys.  By default Visio will remember your previous publish settings and will keep using them until you change them.  If you come across a problem where settings are not persisted it's worth investigating why that's the case.

All the best

Thanks, all I know is that registry keys associated with my user account on that particular computer didn't allow the page to save as webpage nor autocad nor a number of other formats. When 2 other people logged in using their account (one of which was an admin) both could use the exact same installation fully and completely. It had to either be group policy or registry problems, as bizare as that sounds. Anyway, we never checked group policy since wiping, deleting persistent reg keys, then reinstalling worked.
