I am trying to embed excel in Visio. I know how to do that. But the issue is, I have an excel file with bunch of tabs in it, and a visio file with bunch of tabs in that as well. Now each tab in the excel needs to be embedded to the corresponding tabs in the Visio. When the embedded excel in visio is updated for any changes, it should automatically update the tabs in the excel file. Please let me know if anybody has any idea, how to do that.

The embedded excel sheet shows only the tab shown as the excel file is saved.
Regardless what tab you selected in the visio file.
that's an OLE issue. You better split the excel tabs in several different files.

Thank you for the reply. I will try splitting up my tabs and embed it. Once I do that, if I update the embedded file in VISIO, will that update the original excel file?

Unless you're using the database wizard, probably not.

yes, it will. We are talking about OLE, not data linked shapes
Excuse me Al. When you open a Visio file with embeded objects, you see the messages telling, that data are being updated. correct me if I am wrong.

I'm sorry I understood the question was whether the data would update visio shapes, not as embedded ole objects.
