How to calculate and/or duplicate text information

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and have been using visio for a few months so far. I've noticed I've been spending too much time manually changing basic information from sheet to sheet (i'm using 11 sheets on my template) such as name, address, phone number, and the general information thats needed to complete my plans. I know I can copy and paste in place for text boxes that are ONLY in the same area, but my template has all the information scattered from sheet to sheet.

My first question is, and I'm sorry if someone else has asked this thousands of times, is there ANY possible way to have this information filled automatically as I enter it?

e.g. on Sheet 1 I have a text box that I put in the following information:

John Doe
123 Anywhere Street
Los Angeles, CA 90046
(888) 123-4567

On sheet 3, 6, and 7 this information is needed again, but maybe only the name or the address. Can those text boxes on sheets 3,6, and 7 be filled automatically with the information I put on sheet 1? If so, can someone tell me how before I end up throwing a brick through my monitor =D

My second question: On sheet 3, I input electrical information, such as volts and amps. Now, based off the number I put for, let's say, volts on sheet 3, can it take that number and do a calculation on sheet 4?

E.g. Sheet 3 text box says "64.9 Volts" and on sheet 4 I have to do a calculation like "64.9 V x 8 x 1.14 = X"

Once again, can the 64.9V on sheet 4 be changed accordingly to the number I inputted on sheet 3?

You can put information like this into the document or page User data fields, like User.Name or User.ZIP then in any shape that needs this information you can insert a data field.

So the information I type in the text field will save the the shatedata window and then when I'm on another sheet just click it and press apply? This is real confusing  :-[ :-[

Er, erm, um. Sorry, not at all sure what you mean.
However, here is an example document, it has document level shape data (Prop.Author) and a shape on page 1 that contains a text field referenceing this field.
The field is created as
TheDoc!Prop.Author
Changing this property changes the text shown in the shape.
