I would like a 3D textbox that has oblique text. This way the text would appear to lay on the page. If you place the text on a shape it would match the 3D look of the shape.

You might want to check out this post:  Tips on adding text to Isometric diagrams under General Visio.  Take note of Visio Guy's entry.

although, you may be looking for a different level or skew if you are looking for oblique vs isometric (http://www.hinsdale86.org/staff/mgawlik/cad/Projects/Oblique_Pictorial.htm). So far, the only ways I know of accomplishing this is to skew the text in some vector editing software and export/place (only useful for small, unchanging amounts of text) or to modify a font file directly.

June the seconds isomentric stuff is quite powerful.  The isometric fonts are nice.
Only downside is that visio seeks font by number not name...so if somebody adds a font starting with "f" then all the numbers slide down one and visio uses something else as the "font=62"

In the future, it would be nice if visio handle fonts by name or june should rename them
"AAAAAAAA iso right" and "AAAAAAAA iso left"  so they are always first in the list.
