can any one tell me how to get the same list of shapes every time you open visio 2007?
i use always the same shapes, but it only loads the standard list of shapes for a building for example, then i have to select shapes that i want and then they appear in the list (shapes window) on the left side of the screen.
i have looked everywhere but still cant seem to find a way to get them set that everything i want to comes up in that list every time i make a new document/drawing or what ever.

thanks already... ;D

Use whatever starting template you want, then open all the stencils you need, and close the ones you don't need, then Save As, select diagram type to template, ensure Save Workspace is selected (an option next to the Save button), decide a fle name, then save to your desktop or somewhere. Then always start by double-clicking the sortcut on your desktop.

oh yes, nearly forgot, I have created a utility that may help you with this:

Not only does it keep a list of most-recently-used stencils but there is also the ability to create and maintain a list of stencils that always open when a new document is created.
