Command Buttons in Visio Layers

I can't figure out what code I would need to hide certain command buttons in Visio based on the layer that is selected.  I've tried right clicking on the command button and going to Format > Layer then selecting the layers that I want for that button, but the command button does not save these settings.  I've tried using the VB command me.commandbutton1.Layer command, but it always gives me an error message and .visible command does not show up in Visio but it does show up in Excel.

I would appreciate the help.
