Hi Guys,

I'm trying to create a manufacturing wireloom board that i can print and laminate so it needs to be very accurate.

When I measure the 1 inch scale on my monitor at 100% it is slightly larger? This is causing me problems when trying to place shapes on the drawing that need to be specific distances apart.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I've just measured my 100% screen accuracy on 3 different computers on a 100mm shape:

  • Visio 2003: 146mm
  • Visio 2007: 113mm
  • Visio 2010: 100.5mm
Only item 3 has its original display screen, both 1 and 2 have wide screen displays, interestingly item2 has a wider than 1.
Inch format pages are just the same.
This might not be what you want to hear.

Is the grid not adequate for your layout?

I've just been trying to set various zoom levels, like 99% and 101%, they don't work. It looks like whatever is working with the custom zoom setting is taking the requested setting and rounding up or down. If a zoom option like this offered and the zoom value can be modified then it should be the value used. Not good.

With the Size and Position Window you can place shapes specific distances apart, and don't need the monitor or even the grid.
