Visio gantt chart

Haven't bought it yet, but the deciding factor is: Will Visio Gantt charts schedule to the hour? I need to schedule by 8 hour, and 10 hour days, and also by 24hour -7 day work crew schedules.

Yes.

It will do increments in hours, days, weeks, months, quarters, and years.  You can select arbitrary work days in the week, including Sat. & Sun, plus start and end times for the work day.  But, you cannot set different hours for different days.

It's a reasonably powerful tool, but not as full blown as MS Project.  So, there are things that Project can do, that Visio cannot.

I think you can still download a trial version.  It's full featured, but stops working after 30 days, I believe.  That would allow you to evaluate the Gantt charting at no risk.
