Insert DWG file into Vision 2010

Hi,

I'm trying to insert an AutoCad drawing (dwg file) into Visio 2010.  But I get the error "Cannot open file. The file may be a DWG or DXF file, it may not be in a supported version of the DWG file format, or it may be corrupted. Check the file and try again."

I know this has to do with dwg file incompatibility between AutoCad and Visio.  I can get the dwg file originator to re-save the file but I don't know which version to tell him to use.  I've looked at several sites that all allude  to issues like this in Visio 2003 that were fixed in 2007.  But haven't found a coherent reference/table that talks about which dwg versions/formats are supported by Visio 2010.
