Hi all,

I have created a diagram in Visio which has a transparent object. I have then copied and pasted the diagram into Powerpoint (as a Visio object). I then converted to PDF. When I print the transparency, well, it is not transparent.

Any help??

I've been told it maybe setting when creating the PDF document.

Hi Pindian,

It's my experience that the PDF conversion--at least from Visio--doesn't handle transparency very well, or at all. I think it is the fault of the PDF-converter that Microsoft supplies.

I've found that saving as XPS documents does work with transparency. This is Microsoft's PDF-like format, and is available with Office 2007, and comes with Office 2010.

You might also try a PDF printer. I just installed PrimoPDF, and it made an attempt at the transparency (from PowerPoint), but it looked a bit grainy.

The XPs fod prints fine. However, when i go from XPs to PDF....some of the objects are missing/misaligned.
