Database export wizard & database wizard

Hi,
first post and new to visio.

I have inherited a rather large "org chart" (really a document tree) that will need to be updated periodically. I want to export to excel make changes and then re-import (or have it linked).

I have been able to export the drawing to excel using the Database export wizard and just selecting all of the shapes and all of the cells & fields. (thands to http://visguy.com/vgforum/index.php?topic=450.0). So, then I have a nice excel sheet that can be readily updated with info.

The problem is that I cannot create a new drawing from the database. I have gone through the steps here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/254591, particularly the final instructions. But I must not have the right stencil or something because I get an error "cannot transfer all of the data from the linked fields from the database table..." Are there any detailed instructions on how to create a drawing based on a exported excel database?
