Layers across multiple pages

I've got a drawing where I've used seperate pages to drill down into specific detail of my overall plan.  I have set up some layers to format & control particular shape categories.  What I need to know is how can I use one page's layers in another without having to re-enter on every page.

All you need to do is to copy a shape that uses that layer onto the new page. The layer properties are carried over as well. You can then delete the copied shape.

Cheers!  That worked!  Is there a way I can apply layers in one go?  I have a lot of pages so it's a fair amount of editing.
