move 1d endpoints from middle to bottom of shape

Hello,

I have a rectangle shape which I've set to be one dimensional (visio 2003).  Visio puts the 1D connectors at the middle sides of the shape.  I really want them at the bottom of the shape.  I went into 1_D Endpoints and changed BeginY and EndY to 0, but that just shifted the whole image down on the page.  The endpoints are still at the middle of the rectangle.  Anyone have any ideas how to do this?
