I am using Visio 2007 and am trying to insert a CAD 2009 file into my Visio diagram.  However, when I try that process, I receive a message that states  "Cannot open file. This file may not be a DWG or DXF file, it may not be in a supported version of the DWG file format, or it may be corrupted. Check the file and try again".  I get these DWG files from our Facilities group and have tried inserting three different CAD (DWG) diagrams with the same error result.  Is this a version compatibility issue?

Thanks.

Ask your colleagues for an autocad 12 version. It works.

Is that version 12 of Visio 2009?  I asked the current version and was told that it is C.711.01.   I think they also do have Visio 2010 available if they need to make that transition.

Thanks.
