Password protecting Locked Layers
« on: March 10, 2010, 04:51:27 PM »
Good afternoon,

I am currently using Visio 2003 Professional and am working on some drawings that I will be sending out to customers.  There is an image that I would like to include on that drawing but I don't want the customer to be able to copy/remove the image and pass it around their company.

What I would like to know is if it is possible to password protect a layer, or anyway I can prevent someone from copying the image?

Thanks,

djmyers

If it can be shown on the screen then any screen capture software can get to it. Even the Print Screen key will do it.

Ultimately, there's not a good, reliable way to protect the shape.  But, go to the forum home page  and search for protect.  There are some interesting thoughts and discussions.

Thanks wapperdude.  There are a few things I found there that I will do.  I wanted at least a little protection on the image (since it took us about 15 hours to model and render).
