Hi

I am new to visio and have just started to look at creating sheet sizes. I am looking at creating size's A - D. Is there any one or place I could go to get these formats for the sheets already done? Looking to have all the information already on the background sheet. ie revisions, drawn by, approved by, title blocks 4 or 8 zoned sheets ect.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Hi, Mark

I think Visio has predefined page sizes.

Mark,
thank you for the question. We tend to forget that in the DIN, there are other format ranges than A. A quick google search updated my knowledge  :).
anyhow.
Visio ships with various frames and title blocks. You'll find them either in the appropriate stencil (try your stencils out) or by searching for "frame", "title block",... in the shapes window.

If you don't find the right one, you may adapt one to your needs
http://www.visguy.com/2009/01/23/title-block-3-smart-tabs-smart-text/

or buy one from one of the many shapes sites.

when you get the right one, make sure that you put them on a backround page, not the page you are drawing on.

Thanks for the reply I have started to put this together. Instead of me building these sheet formats with smart labelstitles ect Is there any one or company out there that I could purchase the ANSI sheet formats from. At least this will save me a lot of time as I need to get a lot of electrical and instrumentation drawings out? The sites I have seen have a lot of symbols but cannot find any that has these sheet templates for ANSI(A-E size) completed. Would love to hear form anyone that has been able to purchase them.

thanks again

Me, me, me!  :) ;) :D ;D

Bored as I am, I could as well do something useful. How big is your budget and which formats do you need?

Cheers Yacine.

I am just looking for the ANSI sheet formats sizes A - E . Needs to have either in 4 or 8 zone on the page with all the blocks. Ie revision block on the top right, Title block on the bottom right. all the drawn by, approved by ect and the sheet numbering ect all the standard. I dont know how much that would cost ?
Find attached is something I am looking at.

Hi Mark,
I began to work on your request.
My resume after 3 interesting hours:

  • all the necessary shapes are already in the standard visio package. Just slight modifications have to be done
  • most time was spent googling the ASME/ANSI standard. Result: you follow the ANSI/ASME Y14.1. Fine so far, but quiet hard to find specific data. Actually, everybody seems to adapt it to their own needs in a very loose manner.
I enclose a title block of the NASA, I found via Google.
I would need you to specify what fields you need.

As per the payment, I think a (generous  ;) ) donation to the visguy forum would be appropriate. (Chris, you provide the bank acount data? - or  an adress, in case of payment in kind  :D)

I've taken the liberty of correcting the "ect" to "etc" in the topic title.

As you are already so rude as to correct Mark ;D, I'd like to add a point after the etc as abreviation mark.
How did you do that? Do you need to be a big visio guy (senior member)?
