Check Box Shimmy Shake and Lag when scrolling page

Problem:
When scrolling up/down/left/right using the mouse or scrollbar in Visio, the design objects lag behind the other shapes.  It makes the diagram look very buggy and unprofessional.  Have you ever seen something like this?

This occurs for all types of design objects:

• Command Button
• Check Box
• Radio Button
• List Box
• etc.

Caveat:
When in Design Mode, the design objects scroll normally. 

Troubleshooting Steps Taken:

• Restarted Visio
• Opened a new document
• Inserted the command buttons

to no avail

The behaviour does not occur in Excel.
Google doesn't return any helpful results.
Didn't find anything here on the topic, but perhaps I missed something.
