I inherited a cross-functional flowchart and need to make some changes to it.
I am trying to add a separator to the diagram, but it is not functioning
properly. When I drag the separator over from the stencil, it doesn't extend
all the way down the diagram. In fact, I can drag it anywhere on the
diagran, not just in the band immediately below the title. When I try to
copy and paste an existing separator, it pastes far above the flowchart, off
the page. It does automatically extend to the bottom of the flowchart, but I
cannot move it vertically so that it sits in its proper place (in the band
below the title).

I've posted screenshots of what I describe above at

Anyone have any ideas as to what's wrong and how I can fix it? This a
pretty big and complex diagram, and I would hate to have to re-create it.

Thanks.

Has the frame shape been ungrouped at some time? That would cause this problem.
Delete all shapes apart from the frame and post it here as an attachment.

It appears that the x-functional frame has become disconnected from the x-functional addon. The way to fix this is:
1. Create a new x-functional diagram, when asked what orientation and number of rows/columns just select any as we will be deleting it anyway
2. Delete the newly created shape so the page is empty.
3. Go back to the original page, Control-A, then edit -> copy.
4. Back to the new page, Edit -> Paste.
5. Adding and deleting bands and separators now works again.

Did you copy this page at some time from another document? One problem I found was that the page had lost its user-defined settings that are setup the the x-functional addon.

Copy any other pages into this new document, never the other way around.

Thanks, Paul.  Your suggestion fixed the problem.  The drawing behaved this way when I inherited it, and I don't have any knowledge as to its history.  However, I will keep you last tip in mind.

Thanks again,
