Gradient Fill Patterns Along Curves and Corners in Microsoft Visio

I am just learning Visio and the advanced fill effects tutorials helped a lot! However, I am drawing a 2D 90 degree pipe elbow. The shading that I am using for the pipes are color #4, Pattern #29 and pattern color #16. I would like the pattern color to follow the curve of the pipe. I can adjust it by using the Off-center Radial Fill effect, but I can't figure out how to get it to follow the curve. Any help would be appriciated!

that is exactly what I am looking for. Can it also follow a radius corner?

I have not found a solution no doubt some of the other guys will know how it's done.

if simple, start with line curves

if complex...start with flex arrow

You can make a custom line pattern that approximates or fakes a gradient fill. This can be applied to any curve, although it might have problems with sharp corners.

Also, you won't be able to change the color of the line:
