I searched through the forum and found references to use of the screen tip to display text, but if links are employed, I read that the links are displayed rather than the screen tip.  Since the diagram will be published to the web, this phenomena will cause a problem.

I have a very large diagram (at least what I would call a large diagram) of 60" x 42".  When viewing the diagram as a whole page or page width, the text is unreadable.  To enable diagram users to better find the information they are looking for I would like to capture a mouse over event for a shape and display a some text.  I understand that Visio 2007 does not trap a mouse over event, but I don't want the users to select any shapes to display the text.

Does a method exist in VBA to trap a mouse over event when the shape sheet is reevaluated?  What mouse events cause the shape sheet evaluational?  Where else would the VBA code reside (page, shape, etc.) to enable trapping a mouse over event?

Many thanks to my fellow Visoers for their assistance.

That certainly is one approach, but I need this function even when the shape is large enough to see.  I would rather not require the users of the diagram zoom in and out to find the information they need.

Hi Steve,

There is a way to override the tooltip showing the link address. Have a look at this article:
