Preventing glue to dimension shapes

Hello
I use Visio to do basic mechanical design drawings.  I use the dimensioning shapes in "Dimensioning - Engineering" (Visio 2003).
I always want the dimensions to glue to the drawing geometry - not other dimensions.
I would like to know a way to avoid a dimension shape from gluing to another dimension shape.   For example is there a way for me to protect a dimension shape from "being glued to".

UPDATE
I think I found the answer...  in Layer Properties, I can uncheck Glue for the Dimension layer.  Then Dimensions cannot glue to other Dimensions.
