Title: How to edit a field
Post by: rezingg on April 05, 2022, 11:50:26 PM
This seems an obvious question, but somehow I can't find an answer...

I can add a field in a shape text by using the "Insert Field..." command (from Insert toolbar, right-click context menu, or hitting Ctrl-F9).
But how can I edit that field if I want to make any changes?
Is there something akin to the ShapeSheet "F5" to toggle between field code and value?

Thanks!

Press "F2" to edit the text of the shape, double click on the insert field to select it, then press the "insert field" button again, you should get the previously inserted field.
For finer adjustment you can go into the shapesheet and edit the formula in the "text fields" section.

Thanks Yacine. Using the ShapeSheet is a solid solution, even though not as simple as I had hoped (I have to edit many fields).
Selecting a field and then "Insert Field" (or Ctrl-F9) works only sometimes for me, more often than not I get an empty dialog as if I am adding a new field. So far I could not figure out why sometimes it works, and most of the times not...
