Title: How to select a shape that is set to no show?
Post by: freshlychurnedbutter on February 10, 2022, 01:43:23 PM
I have a shape that is set to geometry.noshow = "1" and now I can't select the shape to get back into the shapesheet. I can try to select it but as soon as I right click, the selection is gone...

Using the lasso approach worked for me for this kind of situation

BTW, formulas in the width and height can do same thing.....Width = 0.0mm  height = 0.0mm
Especially if you want a child shape in a group to disseppper

Width = guard(if <some trigger> = true,0mm, 20mm)  kind of thing.

Another way is to use the DEW ... Drawing Explorer Window.  Even though the shape is not shown, it still exists.  From the Drawing Window, it can be selected and/or have its shapesheet opened.

Note, whether you use lasso or other selection means, if you click on the edge of the selection (bounding) box, the shapesheet will open.  You can tell you're on the edge because the cursor will change to the 4-way move indication.

If you use Visio Plan 2 or Visio 2019 /Visio 2021 you can use Navigation Pane

If you have a lot of time you can press Tab key for iterate shapes at page  8)
